Our Plogging Day 2024

On May 23, we held our fourth Plogging Day. Employees from our Kulmbach and Marktredwitz locations came together to collect trash as part of our sustainability strategy.

What is plogging, anyway?  

Plogging combines the Swedish word "plocka", meaning to pick up, with "jogging." In 2016, Swede Erik Ahlström coined the term and created the sport behind it - picking up trash while jogging. But if jogging is not your thing, you can of course just go for a walk and still do something good for the environment.

Why does dc have a Plogging Day? 

Sustainability matters a lot to us. That is why we developed a comprehensive sustainability strategy under the motto „green beyond the logo,“ which also includes an annual Plogging Day. You can find more information here.

How did Plogging Day 2024 work at dc? 

In small groups, the dc team headed out to collect trash together. The routes at our main locations in Kulmbach and Marktredwitz were planned in advance. All remote participants were of course free to choose their own route. 
All participants were equipped at our two offices with trash bags, litter pickers, gloves, and a care package with snacks and drinks. After that, everyone set off on their different routes. Once again this year, lots of trash bags were filled on Plogging Day and then properly disposed of.
