Software Developer Apprenticeship

In the software developer apprenticeship, you learn professional programming with and without AI. On the web side, you build apps, interfaces, and customizations for websites and online stores using PHP and SQL. In the ERP space, you work with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and the AL programming language. The apprenticeship lasts 3 years and takes place as a dual program at dc in Kulmbach and at vocational school.

Data & Process Analysis Apprenticeship

In the data and process analysis apprenticeship, you learn how to turn data from ERP systems and other sources into something truly useful. You work with Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, insightsoftware Jet Reports, and Excel-based reporting. It's all about data, processes, automation, and smart insights for our customers. The apprenticeship lasts 3 years and takes place as a dual program at dc in Kulmbach and at vocational school.

E-commerce Business Apprenticeship

In the E-commerce business apprenticeship, you learn how modern online stores, b2b portals, and omnichannel processes work. You either support our E-commerce consulting team with store concepts, software setup, and customer support or join online marketing to help grow successful online stores. That means creating high-quality visual worlds, short clips, event content, and social media creatives. Regular learning opportunities

A lot changes in our digital business - so we're always learning. At the dc Academy, we offer live training sessions, bootcamps, and workshops. Many topics are also available as recordings on our digital learning platform. On top of that, you regularly get the chance to attend external conferences and industry events that help you grow.

Compensation should be fair - not based on gender or on who negotiates the hardest. That's why we use a transparent salary model based on experience level and job area. That way, you know where you stand, what's possible, and that equal performance is evaluated fairly.

What apprenticeship roles does dc offer?
We offer apprenticeships across different digital fields, including IT, E-commerce, marketing, creation, and related career paths.
Will I work on real projects as an apprentice?
Absolutely! From day 1, you work with your team on real projects. That also includes things like our dc Brandshop, which is fully managed by our apprentices.
Will I get support during my apprenticeship?
Definitely. In addition to your team, you'll have a dedicated trainer as well as someone from our People & Culture team as a sparring partner. Apprentices in higher years also support you.
Will I have growth opportunities as an apprentice?
A lot of our colleagues started out as apprentices themselves and grew internally from there. Even during your apprenticeship, you'll be part of all our training and learning formats.
Can I work remotely during my apprenticeship?
Partly - from the 2nd year of your apprenticeship, mobile working is possible, and in the 3rd year you may get even more flexibility added on top, such as unlimited vacation.
How important are grades in the application?
Grades aren't everything. Motivation, curiosity, and any previous experience you may have - for example through internships or personal projects - are much more exciting to us!
What does my start at dc look like?
With structured and relaxed onboarding. You'll get time to settle in, learn, and find your footing. We also celebrate the start of the apprenticeship in your first week with a shared barbecue.
How do I apply for an apprenticeship at dc?

When does the apprenticeship start?
The regular apprenticeship start date is 01.09. of each year, but under certain conditions, starting on 01.03. is also possible.
What benefits do apprentices get at dc?
Almost all benefits available to our employees also apply to apprentices, including things like learning opportunities and training, lots of events, and your own technical equipment. On top of that, we subsidize commuting costs for our apprentices and offer shared team events.
Are there chances to stay on after the apprenticeship?
We always train with the goal of offering our apprentices a long-term role afterward when the collaboration is strong and the professional fit is right.
What can I expect in the application process?
Through one digital and one in-person intro meeting, we want to find out whether we're a good fit professionally and personally. These conversations are not a one-way street - we also want to answer your questions about us and about the apprenticeship role.
